About Me

My Story

The Stellar Sleep School was born from a passion for helping new parents navigate the myriad of conflicting advice when it came to newborn sleep.

Newborns

My own children (as well as countless clients) are walking, sleeping evidence of my passion for good newborn sleep. All three of them learned as babies to sleep 11-12 hours through the night from as early as 8-12 weeks, and none of them were "sleep trained." Instead, they learned how to self settle independently and comfortably, with full tummies, despite two of them having significant quirks and challenges (CMPA and full-blown, heartwrenching oesophageal reflux).  Good newborn sleep comes hand in hand with efficient feeding, and I work closely with a black book of fellow practitioners from IBCLCs to dieticians, paediatric gastroenterologists and osteopaths, to make sure your baby is comfortable before giving you the tools to show them how to achieve long, restful and safe sleep.

Bigger children

I have a passion for child psychology and you will never find me far away from a book about parenting. You name it, I've read it, and I have taken my love for understanding childrens' brains and how they work, and put together a framework for helping toddlers and bigger kids to fall asleep. Recent clients have included:

  • a 5 year old who had never slept through the night once in his entire life, who managed a full night in his own bed on night 4 of working together

  • an 11 year old who had such severe anxiety about falling asleep on his own that his mother had spent the last four years cuddling him to sleep. Within two weeks of working together and supporting him through the changes, he now falls asleep and remains all night in his own room confidently and happily

  • a 2 year old who could not fall asleep in her own bed without being cuddled to sleep by her parents. On night 4 of working together, she slept for 12 hours in her own bed
