About Me

My Story

The Stellar Sleep School was born from a passion for helping new parents navigate the myriad of conflicting advice when it came to newborn sleep.

Newborns

My own children (as well as countless clients) are walking, sleeping evidence of my passion for good newborn sleep. All three of them learned as babies to sleep 11-12 hours through the night from as early as 8-12 weeks, none of them were "sleep trained" and absolutely never "cried it out." Instead, they learned how to self settle safely, comfortably and independently, with full tummies (despite two of them having significant feeding challenges (CMPA and full-blown, heartwrenching oesophageal reflux)).  Good newborn sleep comes hand in hand with efficient feeding, and it is this ethos that I take to my work: when you combine comfort with a flexible routine and lots of love and cuddles, good baby sleep habits will follow, naturally. When working with me, you can often expect to be referred to other fellow newborn practitioners, from IBCLCs to dieticians, paediatric gastroenterologists and osteopaths, to make sure your baby is comfortable before giving you the tools to show them how to achieve long, restful and safe* sleep.

Bigger children

I have a passion for child psychology and you will never find me far away from a book about parenting. I have taken my love for understanding childrens' brains and how they work, into my every day practice. This, as well as sleep space, diet, exercise, nervous system and general demeanour are all part of the framework for helping your toddler or bigger kid to fall asleep. Recent clients have included a 5 year old who has never slept through the night and an 11 year old who has spent 4 years so frightened of falling asleep that it was taking over his family's life.
